The Legacy Owls Toastmasters became a Registered Student Organization at Kennesaw State University October 2006. Then on April 2007, we became a chartered Toastmasters International club.
Membership is open to all Kennesaw State University students, faculty/staff, alumni, family, and friends.
The Toastmasters program is a cost-effective program, especially when compared to seminars that charge hundreds of dollars per day.
If you are new to the Toastmasters International, there is an initial fee of $59.50. This includes a one time $20 Toastmasters International lifetime membership fee and a $27 International semi-annual due (Oct 1/Apr 1) to keep the lifetime membership active. This also includes a $12.50 Legacy Owl Toastmasters club dues. Dues are pro-rated based on the month the member joins. For all Students who are joining the Toastmasters International for the first time and you have to pay the one time $20 Toastmasters International lifetime membership fee, the Legacy Owls Club fees are waived. However, you will have to pay the Legacy Owls Club fees at the second membership due date and the following subsequent payment dates. This is only waived for students who have never joined the Toastmasters International. This is not applicable for membership reinstatements from other locations, membership transfers, or memberships that have lapsed.
Once you have become a member of the Toastmasters International and the Legacy Owls Toastmasters, club dues will be $39.50 semi-annually that includes the Toastmasters International and Legacy owls Toastmasters dues.
Members progress at their own rate through the speech manuals that come in the new membership kit.
Members have the opportunity to participate in each meeting through meeting roles, prepared speeches, evaluating other participants, and Table Topics (impromptu speeches) to help become accustomed to public speaking.
Members can participate in club contests and winners go on to compete in area, district, and international contests.
